The Botetourt Sports Complex is pleased to announce the 6th annual Military Appreciation Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th. The tournament welcomes softball teams from regional colleges and universities to compete against each other and to help raise money for a military-based charity. Seven teams will play in this year’s event: James Madison, Liberty, Radford, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Richard Bland, and Roanoke College.
A ceremony honoring our veterans will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Game times will be at noon and 2:30 p.m. Saturday for all teams. On Sunday, game times will be noon and 2:30 plus a single game at 5 p.m. Admission to the games is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youths. In addition to the proceeds from the admission charge, donations will be accepted to support Military Family Support Centers, Inc.
