Vermont City Marathon & Relay Announces Details of Events

23 Sep, 2021

RunVermont announced limited registration for the People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay.

Vermont continues to be the safest state in the nation, thanks to the incredible response state officials have had throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic. RunVermont, following guidance of the CDC and Vermont Department of Health, is prepared to welcome additional runners to the iconic Burlington marathon on Sunday, October 24th, 2021.

Entrants who registered for the 2020 race still have priority access until August 1st to renew transfer or defer their registration. Beginning July 7th, registered runners from 2020 will be able to transfer to another component of the event instead of waiting until July 15th, as previously communicated.

The race will feature a new, two-loop 13.1 mile course that hits all the highlights runners have loved for years. Starting and finishing in Waterfront Park, the course first runs South on Pine Street, proceeds through Oakledge Park, heads North on the Burlington Bike Path, visits the Church Street Marketplace, then moves onto North Avenue, passes through Leddy Park, and and runs back to Waterfront Park via the bike path.

New runners will be able to register for the full 26.2-mile marathon or build a relay team of 2-5 people. Additionally, kids ages 4-14 will be able to register for the Timberlane Dental Group Mini Marathon which will be held on Saturday, October 23rd.

RunVermont is thrilled to be welcoming more runners to enjoy the 32nd People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay. The 33rd race will return to Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday, May 29th, 2022.
