Trail Racing Over Texas (TROT), the largest trail racing company in Texas, has pivoted from hosting trail races to virtual runs as a result of COVID-19 to give their amazing running community a way to stay fit and stay connected with other runners. The latest offering, the TROT Summer Virtual Series, has seen unprecedented success and the first race has already sold out!

“In these unprecedented times, we wanted to make sure that we took care of the amazing running community that has been racing with us since the beginning” says TROT Owner Rob Goyen. “It’s been amazing to see runners from all over the United States signing up for our new virtual events and see our first race in the summer series sell out in minutes.”

The TROT Summer Virtual Series consists of four races (Sweaty Yeti, Fit’ness Taco, Double Dragon and Unicorn Marathon), one released every week starting April 27th. Runners can sign up for a 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2, 50K, and receive all the swag that comes with a traditional Trail Racing Over Texas race, including a medal designed and manufactured in the U.S. by Elevation Culture, a custom event shirt and race bib. As a special bonus, athletes that run a 50K for all four summer races will receive a Summer Series Rising Phoenix Buckle. Athletes that run all four summer races (any distance) will receive a bonus Summer Series Rising Phoenix Medal. Runners are asked to report their results to TROT and share their exploits on social media.

Race registrations will open on the following days for each virtual event: 4/27/20 Sweaty Yeti, 5/4/20 Fit’ness Taco, 5/11/20 Double Dragon, and 5/18/20 Unicorn Challenge. These events will likely sellout quickly so we encourage anyone that’s interested to set a calendar reminder to register.

“We can’t wait to be able to get back to hosting live events” says Rob. “In the meantime, we will do what we can to keep everyone active while doing our best to get past this pandemic.”
