The American Collegiate Hockey Association, a proud member of USA Hockey and an organization of more than 500 college and university affiliated hockey programs, will make history when all five ACHA divisions—Men’s Divisions I, II and III and Women’s Divisions I and II—host their national championships together for the first time in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in March.

The 2019 ACHA National Championships will feature more than 1,500 players from 72 teams across all five ACHA divisions to compete in more than 100 games during March 21-31, 2019 at the newly named Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, and Children’s Health StarCenter in McKinney, Texas and Children’s Health StarCenter in Plano, Texas. The event is expected to generate an estimated 5,000 hotel room nights and approximately $8 million economic impact.

The American Collegiate Hockey Association is looking forward to having all five of our divisions’ national championships in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” said Craig Barnett, Executive Director of the ACHA. “The Dallas Stars, Visit Frisco and the Children’s Health StarCenters have been great partners to provide such a historical and memorable experience for our student athletes.”

“We are extremely pleased to support the Dallas Stars in their effort to bring a hockey tournament of this caliber to Frisco,” said Josh Dill, Director of Sports & Events for Visit Frisco.  “This event will create a significant economic impact for our community while helping to grow the sport of hockey in Texas.”

The Comerica Center complex includes the practice facility of the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars, the executive offices for the team's business and hockey operations, and a recently renovated 6,000 seat arena. The arena portion of the complex, formerly Dr Pepper Arena, is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue that is home of the Texas Legends (NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks).

“The Dallas Stars organization is proud to help host the 2019 ACHA National Championships,” said Brad Alberts, Dallas Stars President. “Over the last 26 years, the Stars organization has been relentlessly committed to growing the game of hockey in the state of Texas and has strived to build and operate world-class hockey and skating facilities in the Metroplex. We would like to thank Craig Barnett and the City of Frisco for helping bring this tournament to North Texas.”
