The Knoxville Men’s and Women’s Rugby Clubs are set to host the 2019 True South Rugby Union Championships in April at the Tennessee Rugby Park.

Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in America according to *Sports Illustrated* in 2018. USA Rugby, the nation’s governing body for the sport, has 700 senior club teams. Every year these clubs vie for a spot in conference playoffs to compete nationally.

The True South union is comprised of rugby teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, the Florida Panhandle, and western Arkansas. Competition play starts in fall and the leading teams of each division move on to the championship being held in Knoxville on April 13th and 14th.

The True South divisions are D3 men’s as well as D2 women’s and men’s. The top four from each division, for a total of 12 teams, will be competing to represent the True South in conference playoffs.

These matches will be open to the public at the Tennessee Rugby Park. More information and updates can be found at knoxvillewomensrugby.com/truesouth.
