USA Patriots Amputee Softball veterans’ team will be playing a softball game vs local first responders on April 27th. The event will take place at TVA Credit Union Ballpark in Johnson City, Tennessee. The game itself begins at 1:30 p.m. with a second game at 2:45 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public – it also includes a free family fun fest. The fun fest begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes an emergency vehicle show, military drill exhibition and a K9 demonstration.

The USA Patriots Softball Team’s mission is to inspire and educate others while enhancing the health and welfare of amputee veterans. Some team members are still in the service; others are attending college thanks to the Post-9/11 GI Bill while others have moved on to new careers.

These athletes travel the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive and exhibition softball games, bringing their special brand of softball, courage and inspiration. In an effort to highlight the sacrifices of our military service men and women and first responders, we will host the USA Patriots for an exhibition softball double header against our local first responders.

On April 26, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., the evening prior to the exhibition, Johnson City Parks and Recreation will host select team members at Memorial Park Community Center for a special seminar.  USA Patriots athletes speak from the heart and tell their individual stories. All of them show a positive attitude, commitment, dedication and perseverance which allow them to overcome any obstacle. Inspirational stories told by true American heroes.

Attendance is free but is limited to the first 100 people.
