VisitPITTSBURGH Announces Jerad Bachar as new Executive Vice President

VisitPITTSBURGH is pleased to announce, that after a thorough nationwide search, Jerad Bachar has been hired as its new Executive Vice President. In accepting this position, Jerad will be returning to VisitPITTSBURGH, as he worked as a National Sales Director in both Pittsburgh and the Washington, D.C. market, 2004-2008.

Most recently, Jerad served as the Executive Director of the Economic Development Board for the country of Bahrain, where part of his role was to develop branding, structure and strategy for its tourism efforts. Prior to that, Jerad was the Director of Business Tourism for the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing where he created the events division structure to focus on inter-organizational aligned objectives, established internal quality service standards, established the international sales and marketing offices and collaborated on creation of a public/private sector alliance for city-wide events.

His expertise in sales, economic planning, organizational structure and stakeholder networks will prove to be highly valuable for VisitPITTSBURGH. His international sales experience will be extremely beneficial as the organization continues to grow and expand its global reach. 

Jerad has served on an array of boards including the BestCities Global Alliance, Destinations International and @Bahrain DMC. He has collaborated on projects with various tourism industry organizations including the American Society of Association Executives, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, International Congress and Convention Association and the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council.

As Executive Vice President, Jerad will oversee Convention Sales, Destination Services, Partnership Development, Research and SportsPITTSBURGH, and will be a member of the executive team. In addition to his present role and his previous position with VisitPITTSBURGH, Jerad has held multiple positions within the travel and tourism industry. He also earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation from Destination Marketing Association International in 2012.

Jerad’s first day was Monday, January 14, 2019.
