Executives of MeetPITTSBURGH, a division of VisitPITTSBURGH, announced today that the Pittsburgh hotel community, along with the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (DLCC), are offering clients who have scheduled 2020 events added benefits to reduce costs and to help attendees feel more comfortable when it comes to health and safety procedures.

According to David L. Lawrence Convention Center Director of Sales & Marketing Kelli Donahoe, “The Center will not charge additional rental to accommodate events and space requirements due to recommended social distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Health Departments and the City of Pittsburgh.” The DLCC also will waive any food and beverage minimums, as well as continue to honor discounts based on estimated food and beverage spend.

In addition, Pittsburgh’s major hotels are offering zero attrition.

All three offers are only for new and existing groups that will actualize in 2020.

“Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have touted Pittsburgh’s strength when our community works together,” VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar said. “Our job is to find ways to facilitate meetings and events safely and within global health standards. Hopefully, these offers give meeting planners peace of mind as they progress with plans for 2020.”

MeetPITTSBURGH and the DLCC are committed to providing a safe environment for clients, visitors, guests and staff and are adhering to the state and local government guidelines. Learn more about MeetPITTSBURGH’s health and safety initiatives at visitpittsburgh.com/meetpittsburgh
