Chaffee Arms Classic Expands with NPC Great Lakes Championships

Arm Wrestling, Physique Competition to Highlight April 14 Event at Presque Isle Downs & Casino

The Erie Sports Commission is pleased to announce that Presque Isle Downs & Casino will once again host the Dave Chaffee Arms Classic, which has added the NPC Great Lakes Championships to its annual event series. The NPC Great Lakes Championships & Dave Chaffee Arms Classic will be held Sat., April 14 at The Brew Brothers at Presque Isle Downs & Casino.

Spectator admission is free. The event will be hosted by REAL Training and Fitness.

The event will kick off at 9 a.m. with pre-judging for the NPC Great Lakes Bodybuilding, Bikini, Men’s and Women’s Physique, Classic Bodybuilding and Figure competitions. The Dave Chaffee Arms Classic Amateur Arm Wrestling Tournament will begin at 12 p.m., with the Pro Arm Wrestling Tournament beginning at 3 p.m.

The event will feature four arm wrestling super matches beginning at 5 p.m. The scheduled bouts will include Josh McInturff (Louisville, Ohio) vs. Bill Runkle (Shanokin Dam, Pa.), 2017 WAL Champion Michelle Dougan (Syracuse, N.Y.) vs. two-time state champion Martha Swick (Erie, Pa.), three-time state champion Kevin Robertson (Niles, Oh.) vs. fifth-ranked WAL right-hander Joel Hudik (Toledo, Ohio) and PAF Northeast Regional Champion Paul Linn (Harrisburg, Pa.) vs. two-time New York state champion Brandon Ellsessor (Angelica, N.Y.).

The NPC Great Lakes Championships finals will begin at 6 p.m.

Registration for the NPC Great Lakes Championships is open now at https://garyudit.com. Registration for the arm wrestling tournament will be held on Friday, April 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at REAL Training and Fitness.
