The Atlantic City Sports Commission and Resorts Casino Hotel are partnering with Pro Watercross to host a National Tour Stop, which will take place July 23-24 on the Atlantic City beach in front of Resorts Casino Hotel.

Professional and amateur athletes will be competing on personal watercrafts in closed course racing and freestyle competitions. Pro Watercross Racing will showcase up to 18 professional athletes at one time and reach speeds of 85 miles per hour in the surf. Pro Watercross Freestyle will display an array of consecutive aerial maneuvers, only to be heightened by ocean conditions. Spectators can expect aerial maneuvers such as back-flips, barrel rolls and much more! The sport of watercross is equivalent to motocross on the water and provides plenty of thrills, spills and excitement.

“Pro Watercross is thrilled to add Atlantic City, New Jersey to our 2016 National Tour with its beautiful beaches and family attractions. The Tour has been looking for a great Mid-Atlantic location and Atlantic City has turned out to be the perfect fit with the help of the Atlantic City Sports Commission and Resorts Casino Hotel," said AJ Handler, CEO of Pro Watercross.

Pro Watercross is the world leader in professional watercross events for both professional and amateur athletes. Pro Watercross events are the proving grounds for the world's greatest watercross competitors; United Kingdom, Indonesia and South Africa just to name a few. These titles are the most coveted American and world titles in personal watercraft racing.

“We are excited to host the Pro Watercross National Tour Stop in Atlantic City this summer. This intensifying event is the perfect fit for our seaside destination and will attract spectators from the surrounding islands,” stated Jim Wood, president and CEO of Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission.

“We are proud to partner with The Atlantic City Sports Commission to bring such an exciting event to Atlantic City this summer. Resorts is the perfect location for this event. Spectators can catch all of the action and excitement with great views of the event from Steel Pier and Landshark Bar & Grill on the beach,” added Mark Giannantonio, president & CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel.

The Steel Pier, which extends 1,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean and located across the Boardwalk from Resorts Casino Hotel, will be the official viewing area of the Pro Watercross event. The Ocean Reef Bar & Grill, which is located on the Pier's edge, with fantastic views of the majestic Atlantic Ocean will also be open.

“We are very excited about this event and it displays what can happen when gaming and non-gaming entities join forces. The Atlantic City beach is the perfect venue for these type of events,” said Anthony Catanoso, owner and president of Steel Pier.
