EventConnect, the leading provider of event and sports tourism management software, announced a partnership with The Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland (The Sport Corp). This non-profit serves as the launchpad for major national and international events in Maryland. The Sport Corp will use EventConnect’s platform to organize the World Series of Youth Lacrosse (WSYL) in July 2021 where the best teams from each US region and internationally will compete for the WSYL Championship title.

“The Sport Corp’s goal is to secure, produce, execute and deliver world-class sporting events to Maryland and our citizens,” stated Terry Hasseltine, President, Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland. “Aligning our efforts with quality partners like EventConnect allows us to ensure our efforts are met equally to deliver excellent customer experiences to all of our attendees and participants.”

“We are thrilled to be working with EventConnect for the fourth year as a partner of the WSYL,” said Ray Schulmeyer, President and Founding Partner World Series of Youth Lacrosse. “We are pleased to announce that the 7th annual WSYL in July will be bigger and better than previous years and will be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex for the first time in its history. EventConnect provides an exceptional level of service and has advanced software and reporting tools to ensure compliance in our Stay to Play event and provides an easy system for teams to book their travel.”

“We are excited about the new partnership between EventConnect and Maryland Sports Commission,” said Matt Libber, Executive Director, Maryland Soccer Foundation. “The new platform is an essential part of moving youth and amateur sports forward in the State. It will help provide the data information needed to allow us to make better decisions, allocate resources more efficiently, and make us a more attractive destination for rights holders.”

“We are excited to partner with The Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland as they continue to bring world-class sporting events, like those provided by our great partners at the WSYL, to Maryland,” said John D’Orsay, CEO at EventConnect. “As we see more amateur sporting events coming back this year, we are happy to provide a highly scalable solution for both tournament directors, organizers and teams to ensure they get the most out of each tournament.”
