SportONE/Parkview Icehouse to be Venue for 270 Teams

The 2014 State Wars United States Roller Hockey Championships will take place at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse in Fort Wayne from July 30-August 10, 2014.   

The 12-day championships will bring in close to 270 teams and more than 10,000 visitors, generating an estimated 7,000 room nights and $1.6-$2 million in direct economic impact.

“This is the largest sporting event in Fort Wayne this year and our city is excited to welcome thousands of competitors, families and officials,” said Visit Fort Wayne Sports Sales Manager Corey Ford. “This event will have a significant economic impact on our community, which will be felt by hotels, restaurants, restaurants and retail.”

On July 30, the first puck will drop at 8:20 a.m., beginning more than 700 competitive in-line hockey games at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. Admission is free to the public and a full schedule of games can be found at www.statewarshockey.com.
