Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Canal IUPUI Names Ashley Ramirez as General Manager, Andrew Pawlowski as Director of Sales

Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Canal IUPUI, a SUN Development & Management Corp. project, announced Ashley Ramirez has been appointed as the hotel’s General Manager and Andrew Pawlowski has been appointed as the hotel’s Director of Sales.
The seven-story hotel will house both brands under one roof, with a combined total of 231 guest rooms. Located at 414 W. Vermont Street, near the corner of N. West Street and W. Michigan Street, the hotel is on the Canal Walk and across the street from the IUPUI Campus.
The dual-branded hotel is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in early Fall 2021.
As General Manager, Ramirez will be responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, from hotel administration to guest services. Prior to joining Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Canal IUPUI, Ramirez spent 10 years with Hilton Hotels, including seven years with SUN Development and Management Corp. in hotel operations. She is a graduate of Kaplan University and holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice. “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to open the dual-branded Hampton by Hilton and Homewood Suites by Hilton property,” said Ramirez. “The restoration work being done on historically significant aspects of the AME Bethel Church are providing the foundation for a truly unique hotel within the vibrant and expanding downtown Indianapolis area”, she said.
As the newly appointed Director of Sales, Pawlowski was promoted from Sales Manager of the Embassy Suites Plainfield Indianapolis Airport, also managed by SUN Development and Management Corp., to the responsibility of overseeing the hotel’s entire sales and marketing efforts. He is a 7-year veteran in the hotel business with a B.S. in Management from Indiana University Bloomington.
Utilizing the existing historic Bethel AME Church, the hotel has incorporated the historic Church into the new development to preserve its history for the community. The three-story church on W. Vermont Street dates to 1869 and was added to the National Register in 1991. The dual brands offer traditional overnight accommodations at the Hampton Inn and extended stay accommodations at the Homewood Suites. Guest will enjoy access to an indoor pool and fitness center, over 11,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor terrace, bistro bar, retail outlets and on-site parking garage.
