The Rockford Ski Broncs are proud to host the 2017 Indmar Marines Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Champions, Friday – Sunday, August 11-13 at Shorewood Park in Loves Park. This is the ninth time Ski Broncs will host the tournament; welcoming 14 teams and individual skiers competing in choreographed and competitive performances.

The national tournament is estimated to bring $210,000 in economic impact and 1,600 booked hotel rooms in the Rockford region. Teams from all over the country including Wisconsin, Florida, Indiana and Minnesota are expected to participate.

“This is a unique event that we are excited to have back in the region. The Ski Broncs mean so much to our community and we are honored to be part of their efforts.” said John Groh president and CEO of the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We hope our visitors enjoy the competition and the Rockford region.”

Show skiing combines elements of all water ski disciplines and typically features several acts choreographed to music and built around a theme that tells a story.  In competitive show skiing, each club has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skis. Judges score the acts by awarding points based on originality, presentation and execution.

"Hosting large tournaments supports our Ski Bronc mission to improve our community, and promote the sport of water skiing, through the impact we have on our participants and those who relate to us as a water ski show team,” said Steve King, president of the Ski Broncs. “We bring in teams from across the country to our beautiful Rock River venue and have the chance to show off our community.  It's a big win to host these events."

Admission to the event is free and all competitions will be held at Shorewood Park, 235 Evelyn Ave., Loves Park, IL 61111.
