Molokai-2-Ohau to Hold Paddleboard World Championships

The Moloka’i-2-O’ahu Paddleboard World Championships (M2O) will take place July 31, 2016.

The event is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Presented by Kona Longboard Island Lager, the 2016 event welcomes hundreds of athletes from 16 countries who will test their navigational skill and athletic strength across 32 miles of open ocean in the disciplines of stand-up (SUP) and prone paddleboarding.

The race starts for the prone and SUP division begin at 7:30 and 8 a.m. HST respectively on July 31. The top finishers are anticipated to begin crossing the finish line, located at Maunalua Bay Beach Park, at approximately 11:30 a.m. depending on weather and water conditions. A fan expo will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for spectators.
