Details Announced for US Youth Soccer Thanksgiving Interregional
18 Nov, 2016
US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the participants for the annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Girls Thanksgiving Interregional, held Nov. 18-25 at Spanish River Athletic Park and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
The event will feature more than 350 of the nation’s top players in the 1999-2003 age groups, selected from US Youth Soccer State Association and Regional level evaluations. In each age group, players will attend scheduled training sessions and also compete in matches against each of the other regional teams. Additionally, each team in the 2000 age group will compete against the U.S. Under-14 Girls National Team.
The US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional annually attracts well over 100 college coaches, as well as several U.S. Soccer scouts. The talent on display from each team allows coaches and scouts to evaluate players in an environment similar to what they will face at the next level of play.
Historically, the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional has featured many of the players who have gone on to represent the United States at the international level. Of the 40 players who have been called in to the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2016, 33 participated in the Thanksgiving Interregional during their youth careers.
US Youth Soccer ODP is the original Olympic development program. With programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, it is available to any player. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.
*Rosters and schedule are each subject to change.
