SFIA Announces Dates for National Health Through Fitness Day

This year presented a critical moment for the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act. At the SFIA's 21st Annual National Health Through Fitness Day, industry leaders, celebrity athletes, PHIT America, the American College of Sports Medicine, PHIT Coalition partners, PE teachers and other physical activity advocates will meet with Congress to Push for the Passage of the PHIT Act.

National Health Through Fitness Day has a special landing page for its 2020 event, to be held March 10-11 in Washington, DC.

The time is NOW to harness the positive momentum behind the PHIT Act and urge Congress to stop the U.S. inactivity pandemic by promoting lowered fitness costs and eliminating barriers to physical activities related to the active lifestyle industry.

Eligible expenses would include:

  • Gym memberships
  • Fitness & exercise classes
  • Sport/activity camps & clinics
  • Youth & Adult sports registration fees
  • Lessons & clinics
  • Running & fitness event registration fees
  • Yoga
  • Sports and fitness equipment solely used to participate in physical activity
  • And, other physical activity charges!

National Health Through Fitness Day Overview: SFIA National Health Through Fitness Day (NHTF Day) is the culmination of a year round effort by the SFIA and its many sponsors and volunteers to pass major U.S. legislation to “Get America Moving”. For the past 20 years, the SFIA has brought people together in Washington, D.C. to accomplish our goals. Approximately 150 leaders from the sports, fitness, and PE industries meet to lobby Congress to pass key legislation which will help our country overcome a major epidemic, obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Other attendees include company representatives from the food and beverage industry.
