Leaders from golf associations and industry partners will head to Capitol Hill on May 18 for the ninth annual National Golf Day. National Golf Day, a function of We Are Golf, celebrates the benefits and achievements of the golf industry, including a $70 billion effect on the economy, the $4 billion given every year to charity and the many environmental and wellness advantages to golfers.

Leaders will meet with members of Congress, the Executive Branch and federal agencies to discuss the positive impact of the game.

“With 2016 being an election year, it’s even more important for political leaders to understand the impact our industry has on local communities and millions of Americans,” said Steve Mona, CEO of the World Golf Foundation, which administers We Are Golf. “Since our first event in 2008, National Golf Day has educated our nation’s lawmakers about the countless benefits of the game, and we look forward to continuing this agenda in May.”
