The U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain: All eyes will be on the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center venue early in the season, as the U.S. Ski Team prepares for the main event: the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper Mountain is the only full-length training venue of its kind available early season in the world. New this winter, Copper Mountain hosts a massive pep-rally to celebrate and officially announce and name the U.S. Alpine Ski Team on Nov. 8 - 9, to kick off the U.S. Ski Team Olympic season.

The Road to Sochi Continues with the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix World Cup at Copper Mountain, Dec. 19-22: Copper Mountain kicks off the U.S. Sprint Grand Prix series, a U.S. Olympic team selection event, Dec. 19-22. In 2012, Copper hosted over 500 athletes from 13 countries and the stakes will be even higher in 2013 with a potential Olympic bid on the line. Both slopestyle and halfpipe disciples will be featured at Copper Mountain before making their world debut in February in Russia.

Technology That Progresses Every Level of Skiing and Riding: Earlier this summer, the Woodward at Copper Barn underwent a half-million dollar renovation, which opened the door far beyond snowboards and skis to include skateboards, BMX and slopestyle mountain bike training. All synthetic snow surfaces were replaced with Skatelite, a surface designed for wheels. Renovations have also expanded the offerings for never-evers with additions including a new beginner foam pit with 2-foot and 4-foot jumps and a pump track designed for the development of park skills.

Woodward’s Exclusive Ski and Snowboard Indoor Training Technology: Woodward’s exclusive new Park Snowboards and Skis were specifically designed by Woodward for use on the facility’s new Skatelite surface. Park Snowboards and Park Skis have been put to the test at the most recent Woodward facility in Tahoe, CA; with glowing reviews the technology has been added to Woodward at Copper.

Capture, Learn and Create with Woodward at Copper’s Digital Media Lab: Capture everything on the mountain with GoPro day-rentals or have someone capture it for you with a Woodward Video Production Private Session. New this season, Digital Media Lab Clinics, available for ages 10 and up, teach you everything you need to know to put together your own video in a two-hour session led by a Woodward Content Specialist.

New Programming Drives Progression at Every Age
Woodward at Copper Freestyle Lessons: The newly offered Youth Freestyle Lesson bridges the gap between indoor practice and on-snow domination for kids ages 6 to 9 years old. This full-day lesson starts in the Woodward at Copper Barn, then heads to the snow for practice and finishes at The Woodward at Copper Barn facility where new skills are polished.

Copper Ski and Ride School Breaks the Regular Lesson Mold: Now is the time to take your skills to the next level with minimal time and effort. The Copper Quickie lesson is a 45-minute refresher lesson for those who are dusting off their skis or snowboard and need to get their snow-legs back in action.

2013/14 On-Mountain Improvements: Copper Mountain announces a new lift and new on-mountain improvements for the 13/14 season. The Storm King surface lift, in operation since 1985, will be replaced providing a substantial upgrade to the overall high alpine skiing and riding experience in the popular areas of Spaulding Bowl, Upper Enchanted Forest and Copper Bowl.

Copper Mountain's Green Investment in the Mountain Lifestyle: Copper Mountain is dedicated to giving back to the environment and supporting the mountain lifestyle. Over the past year, Copper Mountain has recycled over 31 tons of waste and composted over 78 tons of “garbage,” keeping 109 tons of waste out of local landfills.

The Quest to be 100 Percent Bottle Free: Copper Mountain installed highly efficient bottle re-filling stations around the resort in its quest to be 100 percent plastic bottle free. Join us in our pledge to significantly reduce the amount of plastic purchased and discarded by using refillable water bottles.

Copper Mountain Employees Support Green Initiatives in the Community: The Copper Environmental Foundation (CEF) is fully funded by Copper Mountain employees who donate money from every paycheck to support green initiatives throughout the community.
