The eighth and final stop of the 2018-2019 World Cup season will take place this Friday through Sunday on the 1988 Olympic track in Calgary. This may be the last time Calgary hosts a sliding event; the track is facing closure due to a lack of funding for a needed renovation. The refrigeration system will be decommissioned on March 3.

Calgary will serve a double dose of skeleton this weekend by hosting the make-up for Koenigssee, Germany, where the jury was forced to cancel the skeleton competitions due to heavy snow.
