More than 500 gymnasts, representing 47 clubs, from nine southeastern states will participate in this USA Gymnastics-sanctioned event at the Mobile Civic Center Arena. The three-day competition is a qualifying event for the USA Gymnastics National Championships and the Jr. Olympic Championships held in Des Moines, Iowa and Palm Springs, Florida, respectively. The event is also preparation for the Elite Challenge and the World Team Trials.
Among those competing is former Olympian and the 2018 US Trampoline Silver Medalist Nicole Ahsinger. Other notable athletes include Senior National Team members, World Championship team members, and World Cup medalists Alexi Shostak, Cody Gesuelli, and Sarah Webster.
The championship meet will begin at 8 AM on Friday, May 10 continuing through Saturday, May 11, and concluding mid-afternoon on Sunday, May 12.
