Due to the COVID-19 situation shuttering professional sports facilities across the country, Perfect Game has chosen to move its annual National Showcase and Junior National Showcase events to the  Hoover Met Complex. The 20th Edition of the National Showcase will be held June 17 to 21, utilizing our grass baseball field and the Hoover Met Stadium, while the Junior event will take place June 21 to 25.

The Perfect Game Junior National Showcase provides an amazing opportunity for some of the top high school sophomores and juniors in North America to display their talent. This invitation-only event allows the athlete, his family, college coaches, and professional scouts to gain perspective on where he stands amongst his peers.

The Perfect Game National Showcase is the most prestigious showcase event in amateur baseball. Since the inaugural event in 2001, nearly 2,500 previous participants have been selected in the MLB draft, with 404 playing in the majors. The timing of this event will provide professional scouts and college coaches their first focused opportunity to see the talent the 2021 class has to offer. Additionally, the National Showcase serves as the last and most important step in the Perfect Game All-American Classic selection process. The All-American Classic is televised on the MLB Network, and includes the top rising high school seniors from across the United States.

“Perfect Game is thrilled that we can again host this incredible collection of athletes,” says Jerry Ford, Founder and President of Perfect Game, “and we look forward to seeing their progress in the coming year as well as many thereafter. The City of Hoover will, no doubt, prove to be a fabulous host of an event of this magnitude as they have on countless occasions through the years. We also understand the importance of athlete, family, scout and staff health and safety and are committed to the highest of standards at this year’s event.”

Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato said “Even though it’s a challenging time for all of us, we are glad we can serve as the host site for these prestigious Perfect Game tournaments.  The City of Hoover has a lot of experience hosting these premiere events, including the SEC Tournament for over 20 years.  We will make sure both the Junior National Showcase and National Showcase get that type of attention they deserve so it will be a quality time for those that attend.”

PerfectGame and the Hoover Met Complex will hold this event under strict safety standards, following closely all CDC and Alabama guidelines. Please visit our COVID-19 Updates page for full details on our new protocols and our updated policies & procedures for visitors and athletes.
