Foley Sports Tourism Scores 2016 National Soccer Championship

Foley Sports Tourism is excited to announce their selection as the host site for the 2016 NIRSA National Soccer Championship. The tournament is scheduled for November 17-19, 2016. NIRSA (National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association) officials joined City of Foley leadership and the City’s construction partners for a behind the scenes tour of the new facility, prior to today’s big announcement.

Don Staley, Executive Director of Foley Sports, said, “Landing this national championship is a huge win for the City of Foley and the Foley Sports Tourism program. This three-day tournament will generate approximately 1500 room nights and will generate more than $2.5 million in economic impact. Not to mention, Foley will once again be in the national spotlight for securing this prestigious event.”

Foley competed against dozens of other outdoor facilities to secure the event. The event will bring teams from across the United States to experience the Foley area.

Foley Sports Tourism Complex’s state-of-the-art outdoor fields are slated for completion by early Summer 2016.
