Redesigned Website Includes All-New Look Plus a Live Video Feed of Construction in Progress

Round Rock, TX – Dec. 21, 2012 – The Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau redesigned its SportsCapitalofTexas.com website to include an all-new look and a live video feed of construction of the voter-approved indoor sports center.

The website redesign enhances visitors’ ability to get information about where to Play, Shop, Eat and Stay in Round Rock by providing interactive guides, high impact visuals and an events calendar.

But the live video feed may be the most impressive part of the redesign. In December 2013 Round Rock will be opening the doors to their new $14.5 million indoor sports center. The 81,500 square foot sports center will feature 6 basketball/12 volleyball courts and 9 multi-purpose rooms with seating for up to 1700 fans.

A camera mounted at the construction site for the indoor sports center streams live video so anyone can view the building’s progress. Two audiences in particular will find the live video especially useful: Round Rock voters that approved tax funding for the building, as well as sports events planners that want to get updates of a new facility they can book for events.

“Our website may be our most important marketing tool when it comes to telling the Round Rock story to visitors, tournament directors and event planners,” said Nancy Yawn, Director of the Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Everyone around Texas and around the country is familiar with our great outdoor sports facilities, but with the live video feed, I can really get planners excited about booking the new indoor facility. And that means new revenue for our city and good things for Round Rock businesses and taxpayers.”
