The dates and locations for nearly all of the 2017 USA Triathlon National Championships are set, allowing amateur multisport athletes to mark their calendars for opportunities to earn national titles and world championship team spots at a variety of distances and disciplines across the United States.

The season runs from Jan. 29 to Nov. 12, with the Winter Triathlon National Championships, held in conjunction with the King Boreas Winter Triathlon, kicking off the 2017 season. Long Course Duathlon Nationals will head to Cary, North Carolina, on April 29, followed by Off-Road Triathlon Nationals in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, on June 4. Also in June, the Clydesdale & Athena National Championships return to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on June 11.

New in 2017 will be the Ultra-Distance Triathlon National Championships, held on Sept. 10 in Sandusky, Ohio, as part of Rev3 Cedar Point. The Aquathlon National Championships are set for Oct. 1 in Austin, Texas, and the season will once again close in Miami, Florida, with Aquabike Nationals and Long Course Triathlon Nationals at the Miami Man Triathlon on Nov. 12.

Registration opened last week for the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships, the largest and longest running National Championship in the organization's history. First held in 1983, the event returns to Omaha, Nebraska, on Aug. 12-13, with the Olympic-Distance Nationals and Sprint Nationals to be contested yet again at Levi Carter Park. More on Age Group Nationals is available at usatriathlon.org/agnc2017.

The USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships will be held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in April 2017. The second annual High School Nationals will also be contested the same weekend. Tuscaloosa has hosted triathlon events in six previous seasons, from 2007-12. Duathlon Nationals returns to Bend, Oregon, for the second-straight year in June 2017. Dates for these events will be confirmed and announced in the coming months.

Also still to be announced will be the Youth & Junior National Championships, Paratriathlon Nationals and Women's Collegiate Nationals. The date and location for all three events will be announced at a later date.

Amateur multisport athletes may earn spots on Team USA at a number of USA Triathlon National Championships in the 2017 season. USA Triathlon's Team USA is comprised of age-group athletes who represent the U.S. at ITU World Championship event. Visit usatriathlon.org/teamusa for more information about Team USA.
