Doug Ganim, HEAD Penn’s National Indoor Promotions Manager, was inducted as the 58th member into the USA Racquetball Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the National Singles Racquetball Championships in Colorado over the weekend.

In addition to growing HEAD Penn Racquetball into the leading manufacturer in the sport over the past 28 years, Doug was the brainchild behind the UnitedHealthcare US OPEN Racquetball Championships. Later this year, the US OPEN will be contested for the 21st time and is the largest and most prestigious racquetball tournament on the annual calendar.

On the court, Ganim’s career accomplishments are equally impressive. Recognized as one of the greatest doubles players in the history of the sport, the left-side legend has won 14 U.S. National Doubles titles and a pair of singles age-division championships at the UnitedHealthcare US OPEN Racquetball Championships. During this run, Ganim reached the finals of the Men’s US TEAM Qualifying division at the National Doubles tournament eight times with four different partners!

On the international stage, Ganim won a gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games and also took home gold at the 1988, 1990, 1992 International Racquetball Federation’s World Championships.

“It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious recognition,” said Ganim. “I have been blessed to have the sport of racquetball in my life since the age of 14. On court accomplishments have been fun but it is really all the great people I have had the pleasure to meet and know over the years that have brought me the most joy. Nearly all my best friends in life have come from the sport of racquetball!”

Ganim enjoyed his Hall of Fame induction with his wife Mary Beth and son Doug Jr.
