Supergirl Gamer Pro is Only Female Driven Multi-Titile eSports Tournament in the U.S.

ASA Entertainment announced the Supergirl Gamer Pro, the only female-driven multi-title esports tournament in the U.S., will be held as a new addition to the 2017 Paul Mitchell Neon Supergirl Pro. The Supergirl Pro event includes the largest female surf competition in the world and a festival centered around female empowerment and providing opportunities for women in areas of sports, entertainment, education and culture where women are traditionally underrepresented.

The Paul Mitchell Neon Supergirl Pro is celebrating its 10th year anniversary at the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside, Calif., July 28-30, 2017. Admission to the event is free.

The Supergirl Gamer Pro is the first female-dedicated multi-title esports tournament in the U.S. It is being launched to provide a platform for female gamers and to help inspire women to take a larger role within esports. The mission is to encourage the empowerment and participation of more women in competitive gaming and to help facilitate a future where women and men have equal opportunities within esports.  This event provides an opportunity for female gamers of all skill levels to play in a safe environment.

The Supergirl Gamer Pro will be hosting open tournaments in popular esports titles, League of Legends and Hearthstone.  Registration for the tournament is free, and qualifiers will be played online throughout the month of July.  Only the top teams to make it out of qualifiers will have the chance to compete live on-stage at the Supergirl Gamer Pro in Oceanside, CA on July 29 and 30.  Matches from the final three rounds of tournament play will all be live-streamed on Twitch.

In addition to this important esports platform and the world’s top female surfers, the Paul Mitchell Neon Supergirl Pro Festival features 20 live concerts from some of today’s top young artists, an all-female DJ contest, a women’s skateboarding competition, female comedians, art, yoga, fitness classes, dance classes, seminars, autographs from the pros, hair styling by Paul Mitchell, an international food court and beverage garden, a Celebrity Surf Invitational and a Champions Banquet to raise money and awareness for event charities, giveaways, more than 50 vendor booths, and many other activities.

"We are really pleased about the expansion of the Paul Mitchell Neon Supergirl Pro in 2017, both in and out of the water," said Rick Bratman, CEO of ASA Entertainment, the event’s management company and one of the leading producers of action sports event and television programming in the US.  “As part of the Supergirl mission to provide opportunities for women in typically male-dominated industries, we are excited to launch the Supergirl Gamer Pro as the first female-lead multi-title esports event in the U.S.   This is an exceptionally important initiative given the lack of opportunity and general toxicity towards women in esports, and the empowerment represented by the Supergirl Pro brand is the perfect background from which to launch this movement.”

The final rounds of the tournament will run on Saturday, July 29, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, July 30, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Supergirl Gamer Pro arena will be open Friday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for consumer interaction and free play.
