Children Ages 7-15 to be Honored for Completing 10 or More Multisport Events

USA Triathlon has launched the Deca Kids Club, a program to reward and recognize USA Triathlon youth members who have completed 10 or more multisport events.

USA Triathlon annual members ages 7-15 who have completed at least 10 triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons or other multisport events are welcome to join. Parents or guardians of youth athletes are asked to submit a list of all events completed. Qualifying events must be youth races or waves in which children compete against others their own age (not against adults), and athletes must be USA Triathlon members at the time of submission. More information on the Deca Kids Club, including the application, can be found at usatriathlon.org/decaclub.

"Children enjoy triathlon as a fun way to lead healthy, active lives from a young age," said Rob Urbach, USA Triathlon CEO. "The Deca Kids Club is a special recognition of our youth members who love the sport and participate in triathlons in their local communities with their friends, families and neighbors. We're excited to reward their participation through the various levels within the club."

Youth athletes will receive a reward from USA Triathlon at each level of the Deca Kids Club based on 10-race increments - 10 races, 20 races, 30 races and more. Race results in which athletes did not start (DNS), did not finish (DNF) or were disqualified will not be considered.

The Deca Kids Club joins USA Triathlon's growing membership recognition platform. USA Triathlon's Century Club was launched in February 2012 for adult triathletes who had completed 100 or more races, and the program was extended to include long-time duathletes in February 2013. More information on the Century Club program is available at usatriathlon.org/centuryclub.
