Snohomish Has Sports-Filled Weekend Planned

Snohomish County Sports Commission announces a busy weekend of sports events through Snohomish County.

USA Badminton Adult National Championshipsbegins Friday, April 13 and runs through Sunday, April 15, at the Harbour Point Badminton Club in Mukilteo, WA. Adult Nationals has drawn nearly 100 of the best players in the United States each of the last five years including 2016 Rio Olympians Howard, Shu, Eva Lee, Paula Obanana, Jamie Subandhi, and Sattawat Pongnairat.

Spartan Super & Sprint Race – U.S. Championship Seriesreturns for the second year in a row at Meadow Wood Equestrian Center, outside of Monroe, WA. We expect over 10,000 people for two days, April 14-15. There is still time to register to compete in the Super Race (Saturday) and in the Sprint Race (Sunday). Additionally, Kids Races are each day, so there is a race for the whole family. The two races will draw competitors and their family members from across the Western States including California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.

The 2018 Pacific Northwest AAU Karate Championships & National Qualifier hosted by USA Karate Club based in Shoreline, WA will be held at Lynnwood High School on Saturday, April 14th. With the sport of karate now an Olympic Sport, this year’s event has increased in competitors. USA Karate Club expects about 200 karate students from British Columbia, Washington and Oregon competing in this annual event. Competition begins at 9 am. Top competitors will earn a spot to compete in the National AAU Karate Championships held later in July 2018.

USSSA of Washingtonis hosting an adult men and co-ed softball tournament (DD’s Spring Warm Up Tournament) at Meadowdale Playfields in Lynnwood, WA. With the Meadowdale Playfields recently renovated to turf fields, the City of Lynnwood has been able to book USSSA of Washington adult softball tournaments every weekend.  An estimated 16 men teams will play three-game guaranteed on Saturday, April 14th. An estimated 16 co-ed teams will play three-game guaranteed on Sunday, April 15th.
