Feb 16, 2017

Sixteen of the top Division I men's tennis teams will meet in Charlottesville, Virginia, to compete for the 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Men's Team Indoor Championship.

Two-time defending NCAA National Champion, the University of Virginia, will serve as the event host, with all competition over the four-day event (Feb. 17-20) scheduled to take place at Boar's Head Sports Club.

The ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship dates back to 1973. Stanford owns the most #ITAIndoors titles with 12, followed by UCLA with seven and the host Cavaliers with five championships. North Carolina claimed its first ITA National Indoors title in 2016, topping the host Cavaliers 4-2 in the final.

Fifteen teams qualified for the event by winning their respective 2017 ITA Kick-Off Weekend four-team regional, while Virginia received an automatic bid as the host site. Twelve of the 15 No. 1 seeds in the 2017 ITA Kick-Off Weekend advanced to the National Team Indoor Championship. The teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament over a four-day span to crown a national indoor champion. Each team is guaranteed three matches at the event.
