“This is a great day in the history of Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village. A world- class team has collaborated to create this extraordinary hotel. The design is awe- inspiring and conveys the level of excellence that will be the standard for all we do on this project,” Stuart Lichter, president & chairman of the board of Industrial Realty Group commented.

The Hall of Fame Hotel is a major component of Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village, the first-ever sports and entertainment “smart city” with heart. Johnson Controls, a global diversified technology and multi-industrial leader, entered a historic naming rights deal with Hall of Fame Village LLC (a partnership between Industrial Realty Group and the Pro Football Hall of Fame) in November 2016. The agreement also included a professional services contract to provide products, services and solutions to be used within Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village.

Johnson Controls will deliver cutting-edge technology for the Hall of Fame Hotel that will be connected, safe and sustainable while creating an experience that will delight guests and football fans alike.

“The hotel and the rest of the Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village represents a unique opportunity for Johnson Controls to demonstrate our world-class technology solutions for making cities smarter and more comfortable in a real world setting. It also connects our brand with a great institution that shares similar objectives and values like honoring the past, building a future driven by innovation and celebrating excellence,” said Kim Metcalf-Kupres, vice president and chief marketing officer, Johnson Controls.

The guest rooms will feature state-of-art technology that allows guests to have complete control of their room environment via an integrated and highly efficient, solution monitored and controlled from a central command center that will be designed for Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village.

“The Hall of Fame Hotel will be a showpiece at the center of ‘The Most Inspiring Place on Earth!’ The intricate design, like our game, is strong, powerful and gracefully coordinated to reflect the Hall’s mission and values. Fans and Hall of Famers alike will all love this hotel,” David Baker, president & CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame stated.

The luxury hotel will be managed by Crestline Hotel & Resorts, LLC one of the country’s leading and largest independent hospitality management companies. Part of the team associated with Crestline is Hall of Famer Bruce Smith whose Bruce Smith Enterprise, LLC has partnered with other Crestline hotels. The property, which will open in 2019, will be a Curio by Hilton. An audience of more than 200 guests that included project leaders, the Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village design team, community dignitaries, and Hall of Fame staff and volunteers attended today’s historic groundbreaking.

The event began with a special “topping off” to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium to celebrate the progress being made on the world-class sports and entertainment venue. The final plank of steel was put in place by the project’s tradesmen. A live, undecorated evergreen tree was attached to the plank as part of a tradition from the ancient Scandinavian practice that is supposed to bring growth and good luck.

Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will be dedicated during the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls. The stadium will host the Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, August 3; the annual Enshrinement Ceremony for the Class of 2017 (Morten Andersen, Terrell Davis, Kenny Easley, Jerry Jones, Jason Taylor, LaDainian Tomlinson and Kurt Warner) on Saturday, August 5; and the Concert for Legends featuring Toby Keith on Sunday, August 6.
