Attendees at this year’s East Coast Game Conference (ECGC) in North Carolina will gain rich insight into making games and how to get ahead using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine technology as leaders will speak on topics ranging from stylized character creation, optimizing content pipelines and leveraging Blueprint visual scripting. ECGC attendees in pursuit of games-related careers will gain insight through sessions designed to deliver value to those looking to build industry relationships and stand out from the crowd.

The majority of Epic’s presentations will take place in the Unreal Theater on Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20. Full details about those sessions and more can be found on the Unreal Engine blog. In addition to giving talks, Epic will host Unreal Engine demo stations on the ECGC expo floor, where members of Epic’s team will be available to speak to the tools and answer questions.

In addition, ECGC attendees will be able to play Robo Recall, Epic’s critically-acclaimed virtual reality arcade action game that is available now for free on Oculus Rift with Touch. Developed with Unreal Engine 4, Robo Recall is packed with gratifying gameplay which is enhanced by an in-depth scoring system that rewards players as they fight rogue robots, get creative with combat and access all-new challenges. Anyone can get started with making content for the game with the free Robo Recall Mod Kit.

“VR provides a level of immersion like never before. Our goal with Robo Recall was to take advantage of these new tools to provide an over-the-top, memorable and replayable experience that defines a new generation of shooter,” said Producer Tommy Jacob. “Robo Recall builds on what we learned from our Bullet Train demo in regard to creating an exciting, visceral and comfortable VR experience.”

Lastly, as a sponsor Epic is pleased to support the ECGC Opening Night Party which takes place at the Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh. Doors will open to ECGC attendees at 7pm, and the general public will be able to gain entry at 10pm. There will be performances by Eight Bit Disaster, Mr Monopoly, Devious, Gifted 6, ancient/lakes, and None Like Joshua.
