Prepare to dip, dive, duck, and dodge as Cary hosts the inaugural Dodgeball Tournament at Bond Park Community Center on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Register a 5-8 player coed team (age 18+)  between now and April 11.

The registration fee is $100 per team. Registration also includes a t-shirt and one ticket per team member for the April 19 showing of the movie Dodgeball at The Cary Theater! Registrations are accepted at any Town of Cary community center or by phone at (919) 653-7107.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the Town of Cary Scholarship Fund, which provides underserved individuals and families with the opportunity to participate in enriching recreational activities. FRESH Local Ice Cream will be on site with a dodgeball-themed flavor between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. 50% of ice cream sales will go toward the Town of Cary Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund provides opportunities for Cary residents in need of financial support to participate in many of the programs offered by Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources.

“In Cary, we believe that all citizens should receive equal opportunity to participate in recreation,” said Carla Witherington, Community Outreach Specialist. “Most recently, we’ve heard from a scholarship recipient and donor who benefited from the fund while her husband was out of work. Now he has a job, they have supported the fund and committed to paying it forward.” Witherington added that donations to the fund may be made anytime by calling (919) 469-4061.
