Lots of fun things come in threes like the Three Stooges, a Three Legged Race and a Triple-Header Race Day at Gateway Motorsports Park.  Today, the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Midwest Tour presented by Scag Power Equipment announced it’s coming to Gateway Motorsports Park on June 25, 2016 for a Triple-Header Race Day along with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the USAC Silver Crown Series.

The stars and cars of the ARCA Midwest Tour officially kicks off its 2016 season at Madison International Speedway on Sunday, May 1. The Gateway Motorsports Park event will be run on the 1.25-mile oval and is a 40-lap, 50-mile race and will mark the sixth race of a total of 12 in the 2016 championship series.

Ty Majeski, the top Super Late Model driver in the United States, will be on site to defend his 2014 and 2015 ARCA Midwest Touring Series Championship status.  He’s also the recent World Series of Racing Champion at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks that pitted the top drivers from across the US in a multi-night shootout.

“Our goal, from day one has been to provide our race fans with exciting action and incredible value,” said Chris Blair, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Gateway Motorsports Park.  “The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, USAC Silver Crown Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour are all known for intense, full-contact racing.  To see all three events in one day, for such a family-friendly ticket price, helps us make tremendous strides toward achieving our goal.”

Officials at Gateway Motorsports Park previously announced that the United States Auto Club (USAC) Silver Crown Series will return to Gateway Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 25, 2016 as a companion event for the Drivin’ for Linemen 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.   The St. Louis Silver Crown Showdown will feature a 60 lap, 75 mile main event on the 1.25 mile oval.

The USAC Silver Crown Series has made two appearances at Gateway Motorsports Park since the track re-opened in 2012.  In both events, the open-wheel cars produced tremendous racing with multiple lead changes and photo finishes.  http://www.usacracing.com/

The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is among the leading auto racing sanctioning bodies in the country. Founded in 1953 by John and Mildred Marcum, the organization administers more than 100 events each year in multiple racing series, including the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, the ARCA/CRA Super Series, the ARCA Truck Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour.  http://www.arcaracing.com/

“I’m very excited to have the ARCA Midwest Tour visit our oval,” continued Blair.  “I have a great deal of respect for what promoter Gregg McKarns is doing with that series, and I believe in the quality of the product.  He has great cars, the top short track stock car drivers in the nation and a loyal following of fans and sponsors.  We hope this event opens the door for multiple visits to the St. Louis area for many years to come. Our goal is to add at least two new event weekends to the oval each year, and this relationship is another huge step in that direction.”

In November, NASCAR and Gateway Motorsports Park officials agreed to a five-year sanctioning contract that will bring the Camping World Truck series to the region through 2020.  This year’s NASCAR race marks the 3rd Annual Drivin' for Linemen 200.  Tickets for this incredible race day are available at www.gatewaymsp.com or 1-855-racetik. Children 15 and younger are free with a ticket-holding adult.

The vision for the new Gateway Motorsports Park is to create a racing lifestyle that attracts enthusiasts, professionals, amateurs and car lovers by harnessing the energy and passion of the thousands of racing fans in the heart of the Midwest.

Located just five minutes from downtown St. Louis and covering nearly 200 acres, Gateway is the largest outdoor entertainment facility in the region, encompassing a ¼ mile NHRA-sectioned drag strip, 1.25 mile NASCAR Speedway, 1.6 mile road course, a state-of-the-art Karting facility and a new 14-acre, multi-purpose dirt off-road venue.  www.gatewaymsp.com
