West Michigan Sports Commission hosts its State Games of America Kickoff Party and and Video Premiere today at the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids. Events begin at 5:30 p.m.
Among those present will be:

- Judi Brown Clarke, US Olympians & Paralympians – Michigan Chapter
- Eric Engelbarts, Meijer State Games of Michigan Executive Director
- Marc Moline and Justin Bruursema, Antix Creative
The West Michigan Sports Commission will host the 2017 State Games of America. This kickoff party marks the launch of the 2017 State Games of America video promoting Grand Rapids.
The West Michigan Sports Commission, Experience Grand Rapids and the Meijer State Games of Michigan partnered together to bid on and host the State Games of America in 2017. Grand Rapids competed with San Diego, CA, Oklahoma City, OK, Lincoln, NE and Hampton Roads, VA to secure the 2017 bid. In 2015, the State Games of America hosted 15,000 athletes in Lincoln, NE. www.StateGamesofAmerica.com
