2016 USRowing Annual Convention Coming to Massachusetts

The 2016 USRowing Annual Convention will be hosted by the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club on December 1-4, 2016, in Springfield, Mass.

The USRowing Annual Convention is open to all USRowing Championship members. 

What Should I Attend? See below for suggestions for who will get the most out of the various programs available. Click the links below for more information on each program.

Regatta Directors **New Program Planned for 2016**

Regatta Management Track:  Based on popular demand, USRowing will introduce a regatta management track at the 2016 Annual Convention. Utilizing the best minds from around the country, the track will cover the nuts and bolts of running a regatta, and share best practices learned from years of experience.

Coaches
Advanced Coaches Conference: Learn from the best coaches in the country. Past speakers have included USRowing National Team coaches, junior and collegiate champion coaches, and accomplished international minds from the sport.

Level 2 Coaching Certification: Complete the coursework and test required to earn your Level 2 Coaching Certification. The “bread and butter” of the coaching education program, this level is designed to train assistant and head coaches at the high school and collegiate levels. CRCA Collegiate Coaches Conference: USRowing and the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association are partnering together to bring the CRCA Collegiate Coaches Conference to the USRowing Annual Convention. College coaches, both CRCA members and non-members, are invited to attend this track of programming. Click the link for more information.

Administrators:
“Business of Rowing”: Returning for this year, USRowing’s popular “Business of Rowing” program is THE place for rowing’s administrators and decision makers to come together and discuss relevant topics.

America Rows Inclusion Forum: The America Rows Inclusion Forum provides an opportunity to explore inclusion strategies as they contribute to implementing safe and welcoming programs for all athletes.

Parents and Youth Athletes

“Rowing 101″/Level 1 Certification: “Rowing 101” will teach the basics of the sport. Parents, teachers, fitness instructors, and those looking to learn the sport for the first time will get the most from this program, based on the new Level 1 coaching curriculum.

Junior Day: Join us for a day of programming aimed at junior competitors, and the parents that allow them to participate in the sport. Past programs have included information on collegiate rowing, college recruiting, and meet-and-greet with former National Team athletes.

Masters Athletes: Masters Track: This year’s Convention will feature a day of programming focusing on the unique needs of the Masters rowing community.

Referees: Referee Programs: The 2015 referee program included an Advanced Referee College, a workshop on Adaptive equipment, and the annual December meeting of the Referee Committee.

Social Events
Local Event: Each year, the local organizing committee hosts an event on Friday evening to highlight the host area. Stay tuned for more information for the 2016 event.

USRowing Annual Awards Reception: The USRowing Annual Awards Reception is the last opportunity to celebrate the best from the year in rowing. Starting with a “Happy Hour”, attendees are invited to join USRowing in recognizing the people that help make the sport great.
