Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, Nautique 2014 USA National WakeSurf Championships Planned for Labor Day Weekend

There will be lots of flying going on Labor Day Weekend at Callaway Gardens – both in the air at the 16th annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival and on the water at the Nautique 2014 USA National WakeSurf Championships on Robin Lake.

Many of the best pro and amateur WakeSurf riders in the world will catch waves behind the acclaimed Nautique G23, featuring the game changing NSS wake shaping system. The Nautique 2014 USA National WakeSurf Championship is the premier qualifying competition stop for the 2014 World Series of WakeSurfing.

Spectators should keep an eye on competitor Tommy Czeschin, also known as “The Machine.”  This Nautique sponsored athlete will be competing in the Pro Division.  What makes him interesting is that he was an Olympian in the 2002 Salt Lake Games competing in Snowboard Halfpipe.  He is currently a coach for the US Snowboarding team and was part of the most recent 2014 Sochi Olympics.  In addition, he was a competitor on season 19 of the television reality program Amazing Race.

Spectators will enjoy the show on the water as well as the hot air balloons, car show, live music and more.  Plus, there are many other activities and attractions at Callaway Gardens to enjoy all weekend long.

Friday admission is $18/adult; $15/senior; $12.50/child ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger.  Saturday and Sunday Special Event admission applies, which is $25/adult; $20/senior; $12.50/child ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger.  Guests arriving before 9 a.m. can enter for half-price of Special Event pricing.
