Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces New Associate Director of Sales & Marketing

The Columbia County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) is pleased to announce the hire of Ashley Swain as Associate Director of Sales & Marketing. Ashely formerly served as Economic Development Coordinator with the Development Authority of Columbia County. Prior to that, she was the Executive Director of the Lincoln County Development Authority where she was charged with economic development and tourism. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Ashley is a 2010 graduate of Georgia Academy for Economic Development, a member of Augusta Regional Development Alliance where she previously served as the Chairman, and she has completed all six International Economic Development Council courses towards the Certified Economic Developer Certification. While in Lincoln County, she received the Georgia Work Ready Certification as well as the Camera Ready Designation.

“I discovered in my former position that I had a love for the tourism industry. It was always exciting to market our assets and help people see why I loved the area so much” said Ashley Swain. “I believe the growth in Columbia County makes it an exciting place to live and visit. I look forward to bringing my experience and passion for the industry to the Columbia County CVB.”

According to Shelly Blackburn, Executive Director of the CCCVB, “We are thrilled to welcome Ashley to the team. Her years of experience in economic development and tourism will be a valuable tool for our organization.”
