Senior athletes, age 50 and over, can find registration and competition information for the 24 sports of the 26th Annual Florida Senior Games at www.floridaseniorgames.com.  Entry fees vary by sport and the online registration deadline is November 19.

The Florida Senior Games Softball competition will be held August 19-20 at R.O.C. Park, in Madeira Beach, and registration is currently open for both men’s and women’s teams.

Besides the online registration opportunity, athletes may visit www.floridaseniorgames.com and download registration materials and return the completed forms to the Florida Sports Foundation office in Clearwater.  Information can also be requested by sending an email to games@flasports.com or calling toll free 1-866-354-2637.

A qualifying performance at the Florida Senior Games Series qualifier is necessary for state of Florida athletes wishing to compete in Basketball Shooting, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Track and Field.

A listing of Florida Senior Games Series Qualifiers can be found at www.floridaseniorgames.com.  The Pensacola Senior Games kicks off the fall calendar of 10 qualifiers September 9.

“The Florida Senior Games Series in December continues to provide athletes age 50 and over the opportunity to challenge themselves to find their game and lead an active lifestyle,” said Stephen Rodriguez, Sr. Vice President of the Florida Sports Foundation.  “The Games also give athletes the chance to renew old friendships they’ve made over the years during competitions and share the camaraderie sports provide.”

The 2017 Florida Senior Games will be in Clearwater and Pinellas County for the third consecutive year and the Games will return to the area in 2018  and serve as a qualifier for the 2019 National Senior Games, to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The 2016 Games in Clearwater attracted over 3,000 athletes age 50 and over during the nine days of competition.  Since the Games inception in 1992, nearly 50,000 senior athletes have competed in the Florida Senior Games.
