The 2017 Rocky Mountain State Games, Colorado's largest sports festival, will offer 40+ sports for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Two of them feature fun and thrills for everyone signing up, and registrations are coming in at a record rate!

Now in its 16th year, the annual Rocky Mountain State Games will take place primarily over last two July weekends, July 21-23 & 28-30, with competition primarily in Colorado Springs, Olympic City USA. The event offers sports for athletes of all ages and skill levels, including those with physical disabilities or visual impairment.

"We always seek to create an event that offers sports with traditional athletic skills along with many that offer enjoyment and fun for others," said Sports Corp Director of Operations and Marketing Aubrey McCoy. "I think we have achieved a great balance, and the 40+ sports on this year's State Games program demonstrate that it works."

The host, Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, is anticipating a fourth consecutive year with more than 10,000 athletes competing. Last summer a record 10,513 athletes competed in front of an estimated 15,700+ spectators.

The Rocky Mountain State Games were created in 2002 by the Sports Corp with 2,016 competitors participating in 14 sports.

Check out this pair of fun, family events offered again as a part of the 2017 Rocky Mountain State Games:

The Great Inflatable Race is the wackiest, craziest, and bounciest fun run in the nation and drew 1,739 participants in 2016. This summer's event on Saturday, July 22 at 9:00 am at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, is expected to attract more than 1,500 competitors once again.

The challenging portion of this unique fun run are the giant inflatable obstacles spread throughout the course that bounce, bump, and slide competitors all over the place, jumping, running and sliding on giant inflatables. Competitors start the race climbing one of the inflatables and then race their friends and family to the next inflatable obstacle.

The RMSG Color In Motion 5K is a chance for competitors and more than a thousand of their closest friends to dress wacky, throw color on each other and create memories that will last a lifetime.

This year's State Games Color in Motion 5K takes place on Saturday, July 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, and more than 1,000 participants are anticipated. Last year, 1,138 participants of all ages took part in the unique race.

Color in Motion competitors will start out in clean white shirts that quickly get covered in color with a Mega Color Blaster at the race's start. Throughout the course, athletes will run through four more color stations where more color powder gets thrown onto them. New this year, music at each color station will pump everyone up. Wacky mirrors will also be set up for all competitors and their friends to take selfies with. As they cross the finish line, runners will be handed one of the new race medals before entering into the Color Bash after party. A disc jockey will keep the party going with sick beats, prizes and even more color.
