Organizers of Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 (RWC Sevens 2018) in San Francisco today announced that single-day tickets for the tournament will go on sale next week. A limited quantity of single-day tickets will be available November 21 through December 24. The announcement was made today as part of a new campaign to make single-day tickets available in time for the holidays. RWC Sevens 2018 will be held at San Francisco’s AT&T Park, July 20-22, 2018.

The tournament will bring together the world’s top 24 men’s and 16 women’s teams, from over 25 nations, for three days of intense competition. New Zealand will be trying to retain the 2013 men’s and women’s titles they won in Moscow, and Olympic Games gold medal winners Fiji (men) and Australia (women) will also be competing for the title. A new, innovative format has also been introduced for the tournament next year, ensuring that every single match is critical for teams looking to progress to the final stages.

“Single-day tickets give local Bay Area fans the flexibility to come and enjoy rugby sevens without locking themselves into the full three days of the tournament,” said General Manager Rosie Spaulding. “We only have a limited number of these tickets available, so we encourage fans to make their purchases soon. This holiday season, surprise your family and friends with a special and unique gift: a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the first-ever Rugby World Cup Sevens played on U.S. soil.”

Single-day general admission ticket pricing will be announced next week when tickets go on sale on November 21. More information on tournament tickets currently on sale can be found here: www.rwcsevens.com/tickets.

The combination of action on the pitch and in stadium entertainment promises family friendly fun for everyone, and no doubt a chance to see some great costumes similar to Bay to Breakers – a culture that rugby sevens is known for. Spaulding continued, “There’s no other tournament that merges world-class athletes, competing in an Olympic sport, in a waterfront, picturesque setting like AT&T Park in San Francisco. It will truly be a one-of-a-kind experience.”

USA Rugby CEO, Dan Payne, added, “We’re very much looking forward to single day tickets becoming available, it certainly provides more accessibility to new fans of rugby and those working around a schedule.” Rugby Sevens made its debut at the Olympic Games at Rio 2016, and the ongoing success and growth of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, including the HSBC Las Vegas Sevens every year, has moved the sport into the global spotlight as it continues to grow beyond the traditional rugby heartlands.
