Tucson, AZ, to Host Premier Development League Soccer Matches

Kino Sports Complex to be Venue for Events

FC Tucson is bringing it home.

The Premier Development League Western Conference playoffs will be Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, at Kino Sports Complex North Stadium.

FC Tucson clinched the PDL Mountain Division title and fourth place in regular PDL season play on July 12 with 34 overall points and 11 wins. It won its first-ever playoff match 2-1 on Saturday against the Los Angeles Misioneros, the Southwest Division’s second-place club.

The PDL consists of 64 teams across the country broken up into 10 divisions and four conferences (Eastern, Central, Southern and Western).

In the Western Conference semifinals, FC Tucson will face the Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23, the Northwest Division’s number two team, at 8 p.m. Friday. The Northwest Division champion Kitsap Pumas will face the Southwest Division champion Ventura County Fusion in the other semifinal at 6 p.m.

The two winners will play for the conference title at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $10 on the FC Tucson website. Admission is free for children ages 5 and younger. The attendance record was set on July 4 when 2,983 fans watched FC Tucson beat Albuquerque Sol FC.
