Preseason Teams and Schedule Announced

FC Tucson and Major League Soccer have announced that five teams will take part in the 2015 Desert Friendlies and that an updated group of six teams will compete in the 2015 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup.

Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and Houston Dynamo will train at Kino Sports Complex and compete in the Desert Friendlies matches from Jan. 31 through Feb. 7.

Colorado Rapids, Real Salt Lake, New England Revolution, Sporting Kansas City, Seattle Sounders FC and FC Tucson round out the competitors in the 2015 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup games played Feb. 18 through Feb. 28.

All matches will be at Kino Sports Complex and promoted through partnerships with Pima County and Visit Tucson.

Now in its third year, the Desert Friendlies give fans an up-close, first look at their favorite teams and players as they prepare for the MLS season.

2015 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup:

The 4th annual FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup will include some of the biggest MLS clubs. Seattle Sounders FC, Colorado Rapids, Sporting Kansas City, New England Revolution, Real Salt Lake and FC Tucson will compete for the Cup.

Soccer fans will have the opportunity to see stars from the U.S. Men’s National Team coming off a memorable run at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Rosters from participating teams include Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders), Jermaine Jones (New England Revolution), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), and Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake). Attendees will also experience an exciting twist on the game atmosphere.  FC Tucson will host games at the Kino North Stadium and North Grandstand starting at 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.  Then, a third showcase match will kick off at 8 p.m. at Kino North Stadium.
