Coming off a strong summer season for the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission (GSOBSC) contributing to 65,576 room nights and $27.5 million in direct visitor spending year to date, the organization looks forward to a fall filled with a variety of team and participation-based events along Alabama’s beaches.

“Throughout the fall months, we will welcome hundreds of athletes of all ages for a variety of events from running and biking races to youth, collegiate and adult championship-level events,” Beth Gendler, vice president of sales for GSOBSC, said. “As our beach towns slow down for the fall and winter months, it is the perfect time for locals to support our area’s athletics efforts whether it be attending a high school or collegiate game or making a lifestyle change by running a 5K.”

Headlining the sports commission’s fall schedule are The World All-Beater All-Beach 10K Race & Relay Sept. 27; Xtreme Obstacle Challenge 5K Nov. 1; SEC Women’s Soccer Championship Nov. 3-9; Alabama Soccer Festival Nov. 8-9; Kaiser Realty by Wyndham Vacation Rentals Coastal Half Marathon, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run Nov. 29; and the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Nov. 30 through Dec. 6.
