Bruno Event Team Selected to Manage Kingsmill Championship in Williamsburg, VA

Popular LPGA Event Returns to Kingsmill

Birmingham, Ala. (May 24) – Bruno Event Team announced today they were hired to manage the Kingsmill Championship at Kingsmill Resort’s River Course in Williamsburg, Virginia. Bruno Event Team is the country’s largest event management company dedicated exclusively to managing sporting events. Bruno Event Team has appointed Katherine Thigpen to serve as Tournament Director. The championship will take place September 6 – 9, 2012 and tickets are now on sale.
 

The Kingsmill Championship ran from 2003 until 2009 and has had past champions that include Annika Sorenstam, Grace Park, Karrie Webb and two-time Champion, Cristie Kerr.
Current LPGA stars who are expected to compete for the $1.3 million purse are Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, Stacy Lewis, Ai Miyazato and many more. The championship will be seen in over 100 countries with more than eight hours of live TV coverage on The Golf Channel.

Katherine Thigpen has begun her work as Tournament Director in preparation for the September championship. Thigpen has been with Bruno Event Team for three years where she has worked on events such as the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA; the Regions Tradition at Shoal Creek Club in Birmingham, AL; and many more.

Tickets for the Kingsmill Championship can be purchased at www.thekingsmillchampionship.com. Tickets start as low as $25 for Good-Any-Day Grounds and $35 for Clubhouse Tickets. Spectators can also purchase a Weekly Badge good for access to the tournament all five days of play, along with a complimentary green fee on the River, Plantation or Woods Course. Kids 17 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
